On this site you will find information about the Stabyhoun in general and our dogs in particular.  The Stabyhoun, or Stabij, is a rare breed of dog that originates from Friesland, a province in the northern part of the Netherlands. The name Stabyhoun is from the Dutch "sta me bij hond" which means  "stand by me dog."
We have chosen a Friesian name for our kennel to show our close ties between the breed's country of origin and our home state of Vermont.
Fen'e Griene Bergen means "from the Green Mountains," i.e. from Vermont.
